Graag bedank Groblersdal Polisiestasie, alle betrokkenes vir hul puik reaksie.

The body of Mr. Roger Solik (66) was found in the Inzinga River.
The body of Mr. Roger Solik (66) was found in the Inzinga River. The body of his wife Christine (57) was found late last week after a ruthless farm attack.
Suspects initially robbed the couple on their farm situated on The Bend Estate in Nottingham Road in Natal, and the suspects decided to kidnap the couple and dump them somewhere.
When the police found the body of Mrs. Solik, it was clear that she was horribly beaten and her hands and feet were tied. There was a pillowcase over her head when she was found.

Mnr. Roger Solik (66) se lyk is in die Lothenirivier in Impendle gevind nadat sy vrou Christine (57), se lyk laat verlede week in dieselfde rivier gevind is. Mnr. Solik was ‘n Parkinson-lyer.
Daar was ’n kussingsloop oor haar kop toe sy gevind is.

Update: Dullstroom #FarmAttack victim dies, R20 000 reward for info
Sue Howarth (64) has passed away in hospital. A trusted source confirmed that the life support machines she was on, were switched off.
Jana Boshoff | 21 February 2017
A recent photo with Sue Howarth during a Sheepdog Trial competition.
Sue and her husband Robert Lynn survived a horrendous farm attack near Dullstroom over the weekend. They were tortured and dropped off next to the R33 (Belfast-Stoffberg Road), where they were later discovered by passersby.
They both sustained gunshot wounds to the head. Mr Lynn had a black bag tied around his neck whilst Mrs Howarth had a plastic bag shoved down her throat. Both victims had burn wounds.
Mrs Howarth never regained consciousness since she was discovered groaning in pain next to the road. She had multiple skull fractures after the ordeal. Mr. Lynn is recovering in hospital. He still has a bullet lodged in his neck.
The couple’s vehicle was discovered abandoned in Middelburg in front of a tavern this morning.
Mrs Howarth will be remembered as a ‘straight shooter’ and strong woman with a heart of gold who made an impression where ever she went. She was a well known face at sheepdog trials and had a passion for Border Collies.
• A family friend from Secunda, Vincent Taylor, offered a R20 000 reward for any information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators. Mr Taylor owns Secunda Security Services and says the money will be paid out in cash to the person who supplies the police with information that leads to a successful arrest.
Col. Phela Mahlangu, head of the detectives at the Middelburg Cluster, said that a task team has been established to work on the case around the clock. Any information and tip-offs can be sent to Sergeant Sithole on 079 392 6096.

Message from the Solik Family
We never thought we would ever have to write a letter like this to our fellow South Africans.
On Friday, 17 February 2017, we received a call from W/O Du Plessis, Branch Commander SAPS Nottingham Road. He informed us that there had been a robbery at our family home at the Bend Country Estate, and that our mother Christine Solik (57) had been found in a river murdered some 70km away from the house.
Our father, Roger Solik (66), however, is still missing.
He has fought hard against Parkinson’s disease for twenty years. Daily medication is essential for his condition and, no matter how mentally fit he is, without his medication he will become totally dysfunctional within 48 hours.
It is critical that we find our father soon as he has hours to live. If you have any information please contact SAPS 10111, W/O Du Plessis 083-777-0898, or SA CAN 08616-72226. We would be very grateful for any assistance.
Our parents were inseparable and their relationship was something to aspire to. It is hard to understand that on their community farmland estate, with rolling hills and endless nature, and neighbours 100m away, that something so violent could happen. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
THANK YOU to SAPS Nottingham Road, The Hawks, War Rooms, K9, Flying Squad, Crime Intelligence, Search and Rescue, Ezemvelo Honorary Officers Airwing, Nottingham Road Land Owners Association, KZN Farm Associations, Careline Crisis Centre, Enforce Investigations, Together SA CAN and the outpouring from the community and friends. Whilst we find ourselves in the most difficult and tragic circumstances, the teamwork under the leadership of SAPS gives us hope.

Man steeds vermis ná KZN-plaasaanval
19 Februarie 2017
Maroela-redaksie
Haar hande was vasgebind. Maroela Media verneem Christine se liggaam is in die Inzinga-rivier gevind.”
Die egpaar se motor is by Taylors Halt gevind.

Sue is steeds in ʼn koma.
